Have you ever watched that show “Diners, Drive-Ins, and Dives” with Guy Fieri? Well it’s one of my favorite Food Network shows and I want to be like it. Well the point I’m trying to make is that Guy calls his show “Triple D” and like I said, I want to be like it. I’m going to go on my own journey of Diners Drive Ins, and Dives, but I’m calling it “Quadruple D” because this is “Diners Drive Ins and Dives Dana style!” And you may be asking me what in the heck are you doing? I am going on a trip to Atlanta, Georgia and they have some of the best food places ever! And I’m going to try some of them out, too! I can’t wait for this. And another cool thing is that some of these places Guy Fieri has been to, also! So check back every night this week to read about all the amazing things I’ve done and places I’ve been! Can’t wait! This is Part two of today’s dish!!! And I have to say that this part is going to sound a lot more tastier then the first one! This came out AHH-Mazing! I loved it so much! I couldn’t believe how it turned out! What I did first was make the compote. What I did for that was cut up three bell peppers (red, yellow and orange) and fried those until they were nice and soft. Then I added garlic and let that infuse into the peppers to give it a really good flavor. And after that I put the pepper mixture into a bowl and then added one onion, some lemon juice, red wine vinegar and some seasonings. That made it really good. You haven’t even cooked anything and it already smells delicious! Then I set that aside, and started on my pork! This was the most interesting experience I’ve had on this blog! I used a panini maker and grilled the pork in that. It was… umm… different! Way different! But lets get to the point. What I did was take the pork out of the bag of marinate and put it on the hot “grill”. That simple. What happened, though, was that the panini maker wasn’t hot enough to cook all the way through, so I got the grill marks and got it nice and browned, and then I had to switch it to the oven, just so I can get it cooked all the way through. And then I finished the compote. All I had to do for that was warm it up in the skillet. And then the pork finished, and it was done! It looked so good, and it was out of this world delicious!!!! I plated the compote on the side and then put a dollop of sour cream on the side! I like to use my imagination, and my interesting taste buds to try out new, different things. So I tried this pork with sour cream, and it was so good!!! I’m going to have sour cream on all my pork now! It was really good and the compote gave it a good flavor! So yep!!! This was a really good meal! Bon Appetite!
Today I’m making, well I won’t type ALL that out again! But I’m making that! And I started it. That’s why I’m taking this in parts! Well, what I already did was make the marinade. What I did was take some orange juice, soy sauce, olive oil, garlic, and some other seasonings into a big Zip-loc bag and shook it all up then put a pork tenderloin in there, and it’s been marinating in the fridge for about two hours now and well, it says to marinate it for only one hour but it doesn’t really matter! The longer it marinates the more flavor it gets!!! I can’t wait to do the rest! Now in this recipe it says to grill the pork with a press, but I don’t have a grill press, so I’m going to be using my panini maker!!!! Which is going to be new for me. Sure, I’ve made MANY paninis, but I have NEVER grilled pork on one! So I’m really excited! Can’t wait, and be checking back later for part two of this title!!! (I’m sorry… way too much to type!!!) Not quite Bon Appetite!!!
Yum yum!! This was a really good recipe. Yes I made something else and this might not be my last post YET, because my mom really wants me to start cooking more so I might have one or two more before I leave!!! I loved this recipe though! It was just like spaghetti but with the ricotta. The cheese gave it this whole new taste and I thought it was pretty fascinating!!! It was great! The ricotta cheese was seasoned with nutmeg, and salt and pepper! It was the greatest!! Maybe my favorite recipe yet! I didn’t eat much though because I wasn’t really hungry, but I did taste it and it was well, I already said this but I’ll say it again! It was GREAT!!! AHHMAZING!!! FASCINATING!!! There! That’s how good it was! And it was so simple. You just make spaghetti and put the seasoned cheese on top, but it just changes instantly when the cheese goes on!!
My brother got a picture of it so he will get on later and put the Alsatian Chicken and the Pasta with Ricotta Cheese on here, and you will be amazed and how good they both looked!!! I loved both of them! Anyway, I really want you guys to know that this cookbook is a really good buy! If you want recipes that the whole family loves then I suggest this book! And the whole family can help!!! They are really interesting. I really wish that Richard Sax (the author of the book) wasn’t dead. I feel I know him even though he’s not alive. I have a special bond with him or the guy who helped him finish it. Because he actually died while he was writing the book. But I love him, even though he’s dead. He seemed like a great man! Anyway, I’ll stop before I cry!!! TEARS OF JOY!!!! He really was great! I feel so so sad for his family! But they must have been proud of his accomplishments!!! I am!
This was a really good dish!! I loved it. But it wasn’t what I was expecting… at all! What I did was brown up the whole chicken cut into pieces I had, and then I fried up half and onion and 6 ounces of mushrooms then set that aside. Then I used my technique, deglazing. I deglazed the pan with heavy cream and then when I was done with the deglazing. I added Ginger-Ale. This recipe usually called for beer, but, I didn’t do beer. If you have a family like mine and don’t drink or buy beer, you can substitute. And it’s tastes exactly the same by using Ginger-Ale instead of beer!!! Okay, lets not get off track! Then I mixed that stuff in together, and let it come to a rapid boil. And then I put the chicken in. And it was smelling DELICIOUS by the time those bad boys were done!!! And then after the chicken was ready, I made a sauce. Actually, I think for the sauce I put more heavy cream in, just to make it thicker! And then I put one of the pieces of chicken on a plate, with the yummy Cheesy Scalloped Potatoes, two mini rolls, and butter, and shot a picture. So now you have something new to look at too!!!!
I have a few announcements. First, I just wanted to say that I’m sorry for not writing a lot lately. I’ve been way busy and sometimes I just have no time for getting on the computer. And to tell you the truth, I sometimes forget to do my blog. Shh, don’t tell a soul!!!! And my family has been planning a trip for a while and we are leaving this Saturday I think, and that’s been crazy. Our trip. I can tell you about that too!! We are going to Aiken first and we will be visiting my Grandma, and my cousin and her husband. And of course, my adorable second cousin!!! Then we are off to Atlanta!!! To do a ton (and I mean a TON) of stuff. We are going to try out some of those amazing restaurants!!! One of them (the one I’m looking forward to MOST) is a place called Chicken and Waffles, and it looks so good! I can’t wait. We will also be going to the World of Coke, the Georgia Aquarium, and the Atlanta Zoo… and I can’t even say the rest, because we are doing so much stuff!!!! When we visit my Grandma, I will be cooking Chicken Alfredo for them. My own recipe too!!!! And I think we are going to visit some of our other friends who live that way too, and I will be cooking for them too!!! I’m going to make that Ham Tortellini that I told you about in the past!!
So anyway, just an update because I know some people have been wanting one. Oh yeah, and one more update. You might be noticing in upcoming pictures that some of them are really good. That is because I now have a photographer for my blog. His name is Jesse, and he, in fact, is my brother!!! He started getting really into photography and he has been taking most of my pictures and they are really good!! He goes out almost every Saturday with my Grandpa… who is also a photographer, and takes pictures. Your going to LOVE them!!! I do!!! Well, this is probably my last post before I go on my trip so I hope that you won’t be sad. And when I get back, I’ll blog a ton and tell you about it!! I’ll get lots of pictures to show you, too!!!! Yesterday was FINALLY the first day of my teen years! I turned 13 yesterday and I felt great and happy! I had a great party with my friends, had a sleepover and had a blast! I have some sad news though. I had my party outside for a concert under the stars, and there was no way what-so-ever I could make and take Death by Chocolate, so I’m sorry to say, I did not make Death be Chocolate. I know, I’m a bad girl!!! But even though we didn’t have my dream cake, we did have some ADORABLE cupcakes! Well, you see, my color is TOTALLY, EXTREMELY, UNBELIEVABLY… purple! So I got some white icing and then use blue and red food coloring to make it purple and I made really cute cupcakes! And my mom picked up some dark purple m&ms and I put those on top! They were so good and cute and it was great! And another thing that made my day even more special was that at the concert you know there’s like almost 200 people… so I had to go up to the front and the whole crowd sang happy birthday to me! It was so embarrassing, but special! Anyway, I had an amazing birthday! I love all my friends and family because they make me feel so special and love me more then anything! So thank you to all my friends for being, like, the best people that I could EVER know! I love you ALL!!!!!! 🙂
p.s.! I forget to tell you that right after the whole crowd sang happy birthday to me, I got to go up on the stage and conduct the band for a few minutes! Maybe like two! So that was special too!
